"Team McCay" is led by President / CEO, Gus McCay who began his career in the construction industry by constructing a log home in 1978. Since then he has revolutionized the construction industry by hand selecting a team of the most experienced and trust worthy professionals in the industry. We have grown our business by leaps and bounds over the past 40 years by cultivating lasting relationships with our clients and exceeding expectations.

We specialize in providing commercial construction services including Pre-Construction, Construction Management, General Contracting, Design-Build, Green Building (LEED), Value Engineering and Quality Construction. Gus McCay

President/CEO

Gus McCayGus is the President and CEO of A.W. McCay Contracting. Gus graduated from Gannon College in Erie, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Science, in 1977. In 1978, Gus opened the doors of A.W. McCay Contracting with his first residential construction of a log home. By 1983, the business transitioned to doing general commercial contracting.

Gus's primary role in the company is developing relationship with clients. He oversees the bidding process, project management, and job schedules. Gus provides leadership and quality guidance to all A.W. McCay Contracting employees.

Gus is father to Greg, who is a Superintendent with the A.W. McCay Team and has three other grown children. He and his wife have two granddaughters and three grandsons.

Travis Wertman

Director of Construction

Travis WertmanTravis Wertman joined A.W. McCay in April, 2005 after obtaining his Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management from Pennsylvania College of Technology. As Director of Construction, Travis is responsible for overseeing the project management and field supervisor team as well as managing, budgeting, and scheduling all aspects of commercial construction projects. Travis consistently maintains professional working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, field personnel, and office staff to ensure that each project is delivered on time and on budget.

He provides supervision and support to the onsite superintendents and project management team on day-to-day construction activities and oversees purchasing of construction materials and methods. He possesses the knowledge and experience necessary to quickly and efficiently overcome any obstacles that may arise on a project. He has a reputation for excellence and has worked on a variety of projects including but not limited to medical buildings, office buildings, restaurants, retail stores, banks, and general interior build outs / renovations. Travis has successfully completed OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety certifications.

Travis started his path into the construction industry by taking wood shop and carpentry through 4 years in H.S. He enjoyed the hands on learning but during that time he decided he wanted to pursue a career on the management side of construction. He enrolled & attended Penn College to get the education and degree required to begin his career in the industry as a Construction Manager. In Travis's personal time he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons as well as being outdoors on his mountain bike whether it be recreational riding or racing.

Lou Ann Robbins

Office Manager

Lou Ann RobbinsLou Ann is the Office Manager at A.W. McCay Contracting. She has been employed with A.W. McCay since January 2005. She has earned an Associate Degree from Penn State, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and has received several credits in accounting from CCAC.

Since 1986, she has had managerial experience in the restaurant business, in the childcare/educational realm, and in the construction business. During that time, she owned and operated her own business for 10 years.

Lou Ann enjoys working with our clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, as well as members of the A.W McCay team in order to bring about a cohesive, well-organized office environment with continuous field communication which aids in providing a pleasant experience and successful final product for our clients.

Lou Ann is the youngest girl among 11 children. She and her husband have two grown children of their own. She enjoys being busy and loves to serve others.
